Who Are We?
We are a group of students who predominantly study Marketing or Business courses, as a society we are active in the arranging of events, both formal and informal. We frequently donate our proceeds to charity.

Your MSOC board:

President:
Kim Binns
Hi, I’m Kim and I am your MSOC President. I currently study Advertising and Media Relations in my second year. In the role I am in charge of what happens in the Marketing Society. I work closely with Emma S to manage and run the society with the assistance of all the other board members. I also act as an ambassador and represent the society at various events.

Vice-President:
Emma Spenwyn
Hey! I’m currently studying Advertising and Marketing Communications in my 2nd year and have been elected your Vice President – in this role; I sort of do a bit of everything, from planning, organizing and running events to bugging the other board members for emails to be sent round etc.

Away from MSOC, you will find me working at Warehouse, partying in Camel or Tokyos, Skiing in Halifax or being at home in London.

Communications Executive:
Nick Whitworth
I’m currently in my 2nd year studying Advertising and Marketing Communications and take up the role of communication executive within the society. I basically bridge the gap between the board and you members, making sure the appropriate info is sent out to you so that Msoc can run as efficiently as possible!
In my spare time (when I’m not working really, really, really hard) I love going out and socialising (frequenting Camel especially) and can often be seen on the dry-ski slopes of Halifax honing my snowboarding skills…albeit very badly! ☺

Head of Promotions Team:
James Broadbent
Hi I’m James. I’m a second year advertising and marketing communications student and head of the promo team!! In uni I am also second year course rep for advertising students and part of the mentoring scheme. It’s my role in the society to ensure that all events and activities within the uni are publicised to all members and that all promo team get the message to everyone!! Outside uni I like to visit all my friends around the country and go out and have a good time!!

Events Executives:
Sarah Lees
Hi, I’m Sarah and I’m one half of the Events Team Extraordinaire, along with Emma. I’m in my 2nd year doing Advertising & Media Relations; ultimately I wanna end up going into events management. So hopefully in a few years time I’ll be organising something like Leeds Fest or Glasto or something...Wishful thinking I know!!
I’m really excited about Msoc this year; we have some really good ideas for events and we want your ideas too, academic or social, So if you see Emma or me around campus then get in our faces!!

Emma Jones
I’m Emma J, and am currently studying Advertising and Marketing Communications. As the other half of the events team ‘extraordinaire’ with Sarah, we organise the events put forward by the members and the board.
Away from MSOC, you can generally find me in Tokyo’s or Camel most weeknights!

Treasurer:
David Weaver
Hi my names David Weaver and I’m from Essex, I study International Marketing. I am your treasurer which basically requires me to keep an eye on our account and make sure people get paid for what we commission them to do. I decided to run for treasurer as I like numbers and felt it was the ideal position for me within the marketing society.

Outside of MSOC I like both playing and listening to music, golf and cinema. You may occasionally see me in Camel, SU watching the footie or chilling out in Varsity.

Member Executive:
Neil Konczac
I currently study Sports Marketing and Promotion and am in my second year. As member executive I deal with all the new members and the administration that goes with it.
Away from the marketing society you can find me in Camel, watching Southampton or playing footy.
Sport Executive:
Kirsty Pearson
I currently study Sports Marketing and Promotion and am in my second year. As the Sports Executive I am in charge of organising various sports events for the society members. I enjoy my role as I study Sports Marketing and am hoping to organise some good sports events this year.

Consultant Executive:
Mark Hargreaves
I am a second year marketing management student but originally moved over from South Africa. I am the consultant executive for the marketing society board. My role requires me to assist anyone on the board which needs my help and assistance with anything they do. I am easily approachable and willing to not only assist my fellow colleagues but people who require my help and assistance. I have a passion not only for marketing but also networking. I have achieved various awards and achievements which I have gained through my life and education levels.

Personal Relations:
Rosa Collier-Wraith
Hi, my name is Rosa and I am studying Marketing and I am the other half of the PR team. Along with Tom we deal with press releases, raising public awareness of the society and also expanding the society on different media platforms.

Outside of university I dance, singing and work at a coffee shop in town.

Tom Lay
My name is Tom and my role within the society is to aid with all things PR...as a PR student, I take immense interest in the subject and get rather excited when taking on new projects. Along with Rosa, I help deal with MSOC’s publics, raising awareness of current and future events, utilising many media platforms.
In my spare time, you will find me sat behind my desk building websites, or at a random soul gig. I enjoy seeing friends and family and I'm practically attached to my fiancé.
